Domestic EPC Assessment

Domestic EPC

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) provides an energy efficiency rating in relation to a property's running costs. All EPC we complete will be registered on the Landmark EPC register and is valid for 10 years.

Domestic Retrofit Assessment

Retrofit Assessment

A Survey including all necessary details to understand exactly how you can make your property more energy efficient, saving you money on your bills as well as lowing the impact on the environment.

EPC's EXPLAINED

An EPC is a report that provides an energy efficiency rating from A to G, where A is very efficient and G is the least efficient. The better the rating, the more energy efficient the building is, and the lower the fuel bills are likely to be. The report will include  a breakdown of a property’s energy performanceits environmental impactrecommendations for improvements and estimated energy use alongside potential savings.

When Do I need an EPC?

An EPC is required in the UK whenever a property is marketed for sale or rent or is newly built. The EPC is valid for 10 years or until a newer EPC is produced for the same property. EPC's can be helpful and informative if you are looking to improve the energy efficiency of your property.

What to expect from a domestic energy assessment?

For a existing property, We will visit your property to collect property data/information such as room dimensions, insulation levels, heating systems and amount of glazing.

The assessor will need access to all rooms, including the loft as they will need to take measurements and photos to support their assessment. The domestic energy assessment is non invasive. Depending on the size or complexity of the property a typical assessment can take between 30 mins and 2 hours to complete.

What do I need to prepare for the assessment?

Other than access as noted above, paperwork/ certificates for building upgrades such as new windows, heating system, solar panels or extensions are not a necessity but will certainly assist the assessor in providing a more accurate representation of the true energy efficiency of your property.

RETROFIT ASSESSMENTS EXPLAINED

A retrofit assessment is a non-intrusive on-site assessment. Domestic properties, which require energy retrofit work, will first need to be assessed by a Retrofit Assessor. Once the assessment has taken place, the details will be passed to the Retrofit Coordinators who will then develop a retrofit plan.

A retrofit assessment will typically take longer to complete in comparison to your standard energy assessment (mainly due to the increase in information required).

What is included in a retrofit assessment?

A Retrofit assessment will include an RdSAP assessment, a detailed floor plan, a condition report  (a room by room assessment which details the overall condition of windows, walls and services) and an occupancy assessment (relevant information is discussed and confirmed with the homeowner to understand how they use the property, and what their fuel bills amount to.

How would I benefit from a retrofit assessment?

Having a retrofit assessment completed at your property will provide you with all the necessary details to understand exactly how you can make your property more energy efficient, which will save you money on your bills as well as lowing the impact on the environment.

What do I need to prepare for the assessment

Please make sure we have access to all rooms, including the loft as we will need to take measurements and photos to support the assessment. Certificates for building upgrades such as new windows, heating systems, ventilation systems, solar panels or extensions are not a necessity but will certainly assist the assessor in providing a more accurate representation of the property's  true energy efficiency  as well as recommending the best retrofit plan.
